I am a recently retired educator of forty years. I have been a teacher, assistant principal, principal, director and executive director. I spent the last ten years as State and Federal Programs Director where I wrote, implemented and monitored state and federal grants for public school districts. I have extensive experience in detailed work that would not allow for mistakes or errors, which makes me a great person for notary work. I have four degrees (BS, MA, Ed.S, and Ed. D). Having been a principal for ten years, provided excellent experience in customer service. I am friendly, approachable, and professional. I believe in honest, hard work, trustworthiness, and integrity. I am a wife, mother, and grandmother to four great kids!

Authorized duties of a notary in Texas
Under Texas Administrative Code 406.106, there are five authorized duties a Texas notary public can perform within the geographic boundaries of the state of Texas, namely:
- Taking acknowledgments or proofs of written instruments
- Administering oaths and affirmations
- Taking depositions
- Certifying copies of documents not recordable in the public records
- Protesting instruments

Notarization Requirements
- The signer must be physically present.
- Texas law requires an identifying document, such as a driver’s license or card relied on by a notary to identify a person must be current. It must be issued by a state or federal government agency and include a photo and signature of the person (TCPRC, Sec. 121.005 and NPEM).
- The IDs authorized are:
- State driver’s license and official non-driver’s IDs
- U.S. passports and U.S. military IDs
- IDs as well as resident alien IDs, including green cards, that the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services have issued
- IDs are deemed valid if they have the following:
- A photograph
- A physical description
- A signature of the bearer. Note that most government-issued IDs have all three components.
- Signer must be signing the document(s) under his/her own free will.
- Documents that are recordable such as birth certificates, death certificates and marriage certificates, cannot be notarized.
